The winemakers of Sancerre have nurtured a close relationship with the local population and are fully invested in the local community. They are involved in a great number of events and activities and are always keen to offer tastings of their wines and share their wealth of knowledge with the public.
From the iconic Sancerre Wine Fair, which takes place every year on Whitsunday, to more frequent events in partnership with the other AOCs of the Centre Loire region, there are endless opportunities to meet the winemakers and taste their wines.
Numerous tastings are organised throughout summer:
- ‘Les Vindredis’, every Friday evening on the terrace at the Maison des Sancerre: the 14 villages that make up AOC Sancerre take it in turns to present their wines, in the company of the winemakers.
- ‘It’s Wine Time’, on the banks of the Loire River on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays with the winemakers from AOC Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé, Pouilly-sur-Loire and Coteaux du Giennois.
- ‘Pop’Up Vigneron’, held in the tasting room at the Maison des Sancerre: a one-day event in the company of the winemakers. The perfect opportunity to taste their wines and ask them any questions you might have.
